Sales Rep for Landscape Contractors - Midwest Groundcovers - St. Charles, IL

Full Time Year Around

To meet or exceed sales forecasts to a specified list of Landscape Contractor customers in the Chicagoland area by active promotional and relational selling, promoting the company image, selling our products & services, personal account care, meeting customer service expectations and working as a member of the Midwest Groundcovers team while achieving one’s personal goals in the process. 

Essential Responsibilities:
Build and maintain relationships with Growth Partners & Sustaining Partners through regular sales visits sales visits
Maintain a connection with professionals who may specify Midwest Groundcovers plant material
Provide excellent customer service
Sell and promote products and services
Support public and industry relations and promotion; participate in opportunities with industry professional associations such as ILCA, IGIA, MELA and ASLA
Work trade shows. Contribute ideas for show promotions, presentation and message. Collaborate with marketing and trade show teams
Preferred Experience:
Knowledge and established network of industry professionals
Strong knowledge of cultivated plants
5 years of industry and sales experience
Knowledge & Skills Required:
Strong knowledge of horticulture, especially as it pertains to the Landscape Contractor & specifier market
Strong sales and market development skills
Excellent verbal communicator and negotiator
Strong organizational skills with attention to follow up
Effective written communication skills
Strong computer skills such as Outlook, Power Point, Excel and Word
Strong problem solving and consulting skills
Desired Skills:
Work 40+ hours a week. More hours may be required for trade shows, presentations, etc.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Business or related field
